Maggie is a beautiful sleek black kitten with ultra soft fur and an amazing fluffy tail.
Maggie was found living under a mobile home when she was only about 6 weeks old. Extremely thin and malnourished we were so lucky to have found her in time.
Ever since we rescued Maggie she has always been a little reserved and not one to be the first to explore new things.
Now at almost 5 months old she still has her timid and shy side however she adores being pet and loves attention.
She just needs time to bond to her person. She has bonded very closely with her foster mom and sleeps in bed with her every night, curls up on her pillow and will even come join her on her lap for cuddles. When it comes to new people she is very reserved and is not one to greet them when they try to pet her.
She loves to play but doesn’t like very rough play and will give a little hiss when her siblings are being too rough with her.
Since rescuing Maggie she has had repetitive on and off diarrhea. She has seen the vet multiple times and has had multiple stool samples taken but has never found anything wrong. Because of this she has been diagnose with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Please don’t let that scare you away! All that is for her is some occasional diarrhea. When she does get diarrhea it has never been anything that has caused her to have accidents or anything like that. She is a fantastic weight and never has any other symptoms. She just has a sensitive tummy.
Maggie is looking for a calm household WITHOUT children that she can spend her days curled up in bed with you or lounge on the couch and watch TV.
She will likely be very nervous in her new home and may take several weeks to start relaxing and show her sweet side.
Maggie would do well in a house with other cats that don’t rough house too hard but she would also do well as an only cat that gets all the attention. If you are looking for a pair, Maggie would love to be adopted with her brother Jack-Jack.
She has not been introduced to dogs. We suspect that she would adjust fine to calm dogs that would ignore her but probably would get overwhelmed with a dog that is always in her face wanting to play. Slow, proper introduction is always important!
