Original found as a kitten in a trashcan at a campgroud in Mississippi, this beautiful senior still has years of life in her. She is a beautiful brown tabby with a white diamond on her chest. She is 12 years old but only had the best of care and attention. Iris is very healthy with good vision and hearing. She is extremely sweet and loving. She's a talker, independent and just a little shy with visitors.

Iris would LOVE to be the only cat and is perfect for a quiet household with adults. She gets along well with cats when out of doors and enjoys their company but NOT in her house, PLEASE! She hasn't been around dogs except to run up trees if they come after her. She has always been fast on her feet, with good instincts.

My name is Lee Haworth, and I am going to the Dominican Republic August 2, where I will be serving for 27 months as a Peace Corps Volunteer.  I would like to find someone who can care for/adopt my tabby cat (she is about 12 years old). As I mentioned, I have had this cat ten years. She was about two when she "adopted me."  I brought her with me to California from New Orleans, where I was living at the time that she moved in. I'm attached a photo of my kitty. Although I call her "Iris" she goes by "Kitty." She is a healthy, affectionate cat with no bad habits such as scratching or biting. She has been both an indoor/outdoor cat although since I moved to an urban area she stays inside most of the time. I am glad to offer a stipend for food/kitty litter and a deposit in case she needs vet care. I would be very appreciative if you post information on line to the various organizations you mentioned you are affiliated with.
